The true power lies in peace
The true power lies in peace, not in commanding.
In the realm of warfare, where strategies unfold,
I, reveal wisdom untold.
For in the art of war, knowledge is might,
And the skilled general triumphs in every fight.
Know thyself, know thy enemy, they say,
For victory is born from a well-formed way.
Study the terrain, observe with precision,
And adapt your tactics to seize the decision.
In battle, the key lies in deception's embrace,
Feign weakness, lure the enemy to a chase.
Appear where you are not, strike when least expected,
Unleash the element of surprise, leave them affected.
To subdue the enemy without fighting at all,
That is the pinnacle of triumph's call.
Understand their weaknesses, exploit every flaw,
And victory shall be yours, without a claw.
The wise commander knows the value of time,
Patience, the virtue that orchestrates the climb.
Seize opportunities swiftly, strike with precision,
For delay and hesitation lead to derision.
Build your army strong, with loyalty and trust,
For unity and discipline, a foundation robust.
Train them well, instill courage in their hearts,
And they shall fight as one, refusing to depart.
Analyze the terrain, the weather, the ground,
For battles are won or lost before they are found.
Choose the battlefield wisely, adapt to its demands,
And your forces shall triumph, where victory stands.
In war, adaptability reigns supreme,
Flexibility of thought, like a flowing stream.
Embrace change, embrace the unexpected,
And the enemy's resistance shall be deflected.
But remember, war is not the ultimate aim,
For harmony and peace should never be maimed.
Seek resolution through diplomacy and accord,
For the greatest victory is a lasting accord.
In the art of war, strategy is the key,
The chessboard of life, where battles decree.
Master the principles, the art of maneuver,
And emerge triumphant as a wise war ruler.
For I, Sun Tzu, impart these words with care,
May they guide you in war, and life's affair.
Remember, the greatest victory is in understanding,
That true power lies in peace, not in commanding.

Exceptionally wise words. I have a copy of "The Art of War" which I have not yet read. I may have to amend that soon.
Hello! I just wanted to say I loved this poem so much when I first read it that I HAD to include it in my vocal favorites. I featured your poem in this article here: https://vocal.media/writers/fantastical-vocal-favorites-vol-2 I wasn't able to tip you as it appears your account isn't connected to stripe, but I hope this still encourages you to keep writing!
