The Tree of Poison

In the dark of the woods, a tree does stand,

With twisted branches like a cruel hand.

Leaves like shadows, sharp and green,

Whispers secrets, not fit for the keen.

Fruits that glisten, but hold a sting,

One single bite, and trouble they bring.

A scent so sweet, it lures you near,

But beware, my friend, it hides in fear.

In the night, it casts a spell,

A warning tale too hard to tell.

So here we learn, as we gaze at the tree,

Not all that looks good is safe for thee.
