Time moves on, but some places never leave us.

Time moves on, but some places never leave us.

A cobblestone road comes to the 8th,

Rust-colored leaves now dress the ground,

Grey Mist unclothes to reveal the traits

of an old forgotten town.

Chimneys breathe smoke that blinds,

Into air that speaks;

A clockmaker mends the passage of time,

In a house where old thoughts meet.

The house, it stands at the street’s bend

Its recall old and broken;

Its Windows tell tales no end,

It speaks of tarnished tokens.

The 11th waits beyond its gates

As the 10th walks into the Mist;

And I leave, with me I take

Its thoughts, forgotten bliss.

Mirrors of the Mind by Michelle Liew is a collection of psychological and supernatural short stories that explore the quiet unease beneath ordinary moments. These are not tales of spectacle, but of subtle fracture — where memory distorts, silence speaks, and the self is not always singular. In these stories, what is unseen often carries the greatest weight, and what lingers is not what is shown, but what is felt.
