The Time Is Now-Save our Kids
#StopTeenSuicide
We need to start paying closer attention, so many of the "signs" are things that we are inclined to brush off, as simply nothing more than, typical teenage behaviors. Put phone numbers and apps into their phones for them. I suggest kids help phone, teenline.org and most importantly please install the Not Ok App onto their phones. The not ok app is an app where you add 3 people as, Trusted Contacts, that can be notified at anytime your child hits the panic button, via phone call, text, and best of all, it will send out a gps location, so if they don't answer, you know where they are and can get to them.
My favorite part of my poem: Teens don't want to die, they just want to stop all the pain on the inside" We have to remember that their brains are still forming, still learning to function and still developing the ability to process emotions, situations, stress, and the difficult surroundings in the same way that we adults can. A surmountable amount of pressure is placed on them, so much so, that most of us adults wouldn't be able to bear, if we didn't know how to, and there are still some adults who don't!
