The Terrible Neighbours
Why did they move next door ?

The Terrible Neighbours
They screamed from morning until night,
slamming doors and throwing words like stones.
I could hear them through walls,
their anger bleeding into every corner of my home.
I tried to breathe, tried to hold myself steady,
but their chaos settled over me like smoke.
They whispered about lives they did not understand,
judged what I did and said with eyes I could not see.
Every day felt heavier than the last,
I counted the hours until a silence that might never come.
I imagined leaving,
finding streets that did not echo with their rage,
houses where walls held only calm and quiet.
I reminded myself that patience could hold me a little longer,
that one day I would walk out the door
and the world would finally be mine alone.
