The Tent

Memories of Summers past.

The Tent

Summer days that bring moonlit starry nights

Begin with singing birds and lilacs scent

Joyous children laughing bringing days light

Awoke by promise of a camping tent

*****

Breakfast smells rising into sleepy minds

Opens eyes returned from nights dreamy rest

Today we travel to find happy times

These family trips are always the best

****

Papa drives as Mama finds us the best way

Our car filled with laughter takes us there

Summer morns sun dawns a beautiful day

Bringing joyful chatter as we draw near

****

But Alas we find when our drive is spent

Papa it seems has forgotten the tent
