The Sun Shines Again

Because I Never Really Lost

You can still call me a liar,

My past is my past,

Only I know the truth,

And I'm free at last.

All these years on,

And my truth never changed

Though I lost it all,

My honesty remains.

I guess that I held on to,

My sense of self, pride, honesty,

Dignity, and respect,

But you and them;

You still chose to lie.

I admit,

You tried to break me,

And attempted to ruin my life,

You stole my family,

Not for truth,

But for greed and spite.

But;

I say this loud and clear,

With my head held high.

You made them believe I was crazy,

Told them I was a psycho,

Convinced them I was insane,

And you thought convincing them to steal everything

that meant the world to me,

Was going to make me bow down,

So you could try and claim innocence.

I lost it all,

Even those loved little humans that came from my womb;

Here I stand,

Head held high,

Still telling the truth,

And accepting that I was abused.

Let me tell you something;

The sun still shines,

Because I never really lost,

The wolf always catches its prey in the end,

And all I have achieved,

Is gaining everything back,

Despite it being years later,

Because every lie you told has been found out.
