Some mornings the world awakens before I do

and arranges itself like an altar to the gods of delight.

A single pear on the counter seems like a blessing

it glows with the patience of a minor god

who has chosen fruit with which to disguise itself.

......

The faucet drips in a slow, tap, tapping rhythm,

it seems almost ceremonial

as if counting the years I have survived

without noticing its devotion.

Steam rises from my cup

a familiar spirit practicing the art of returning.

...

Even the dust performs its soft miracles~~~

each mote a wandering star

that fell from a forgotten constellation

and decided to live on my bookshelf.

I touch the back of a chair

and it warms with the memory of every hand

that ever leaned on it for courage.

The window...fogged over

with the many breaths we all once breathed,

becomes a portal to a gentler realm

where light moves like a benevolent animal

seeking a place to rest.

...

And I, barefoot on the kitchen tile,

feel the quiet truth of it:

the universe keeps offering itself

in small, extravagant gestures ~~

not to impress me,

but to remind me

that even the simplest things

are practicing their own kind of magic.

~~~~~
The world keeps slipping its jewels into our pockets
when we're not looking.
A chipped warming mug - The old curtain breathing in and out with the wind.
A spoon resting in a bowl, glinting -
remembering
every hand that ever lifted it toward hope.
.....
Even the floorboards - those humble archivists
carry the soft thunder of our footsteps
a procession worth noting...remembering
Light pools on the table, gold upon the ripe fruit,
and I realize it has been practicing this generosity
for centuries, waiting for someone to notice.
......
Nothing spectacular, nothing rare.
Just the daily miracles,
the ones that never audition for wonder -
yet keep earning it anyway.
~~~

And I, moving through the room,

am suddenly aware of how rich I am

in all the things that cost nothing

but attention.
