The Strongest Boundary

Lyric

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 5 months ago • 2 min read

Verse 1

I used to force my voice to fit inside each and every room

Shrinking down my truth so it held its proper space

I’d spin myself in circles just to prove

I wasn’t something to be replaced

But every time I tried to explain or make others see

I'd lose just more of being who I am meant to be

That's when God would gently point out all the reasons I am that I am

And I don’t need to justify His plan

Chorus

The strongest boundary you can have is standing in your truth

Not explaining every heartbeat ... or oversharing every thought you feel

It's not begging for a place in someone else's room

It's not asking them to tell you that your faith is real

You just breathe in the quiet God has made

Trusting what He planted deep inside your soul

The strongest boundary is learning not to let yourself fade

And embracing God's own truth to be all that you hold

Verse 2

I used to chase approval like a moth is attracted to the flame

Thinking someone else's truth could guide and light my way

I’d offer up excuses for my thoughts, my soul, my name

Hoping doing this would let my soul feel safe

But God kept whispering “Girl, You’re mine, just keep still

You don’t need their validation to know your faith is real"

Listen closely to Him and you too will find and feel

The place where your heart and soul can finally heal

Bridge

I don’t owe the world a reason for my breath

I don’t owe anyone proof of who I truly am

God already wrote His promise in love and blood upon my chest

And I will rise inside the strength of knowing that

Final Chorus

The strongest boundary you can have is standing in your truth

Not explaining every heartbeat ... or oversharing every thought you feel

It's not begging for a place in someone else's room

It's not asking them to tell you that your faith is real

You just breathe in the quiet God has made

Trusting what He planted deep inside your soul

The strongest boundary is learning not to let yourself fade

And embracing God's own truth to be all that you hold

The strongest boundary I must hold

Oh yes, the strongest boundary i can hold
