His heart is so empty,

His face wears a frown,

He walks through the streets,

and he’s always alone.

The people keep passing,

strangers to themselves.

He looks through the window,

and sees a life never known.

His past is his present,

he lives in regret,

He’s walking on memories,

that he can’t forget.

For once he had someone,

who still lives in his dreams

He reaches out to touch her

but she’s not what she seems.

He takes a deep breath,

and closes his eyes

He knows he must move on,

and take off his disguise.

He can’t change the past,

or undo his mistakes,

But he can learn from them,

and give his heart a break.

He’ll find new beginnings,

and make a fresh start,

With hope in his soul,

and courage in his heart.
