as told through the ages of time

Tell me your stories, your magic is mine.

In the land of consequences and time

Where reality breeds stories that grew as vines

*****

All that you see might very well look fine

Yet behind it disguises the masks of crimes

Looks can be deceiving as lies combine

*****

As you explore and see the details redefined

Of the adventures of characters long lost in rhymes

Told and changed over some period decline

*****

Tales of the old with lost meaning resign

Brought to new life with each generation’s chime

In new light bring meanings redesigned

*****

Only investigation can reveal the truth align

To see where the stories might just climb

To last for longer than the writers inclined

Alas to your stories might just last through time enshrined

Love a good story! Good poem, Sarah

  • Lovely poem, and the picture is great. It does not follow the true villanelle format (check my guide), but as it is Christmas day everyone who entered gets a tip. And I really enjoyed this poem.
