The Stone Circle in the Woods
I sit in it and feel at one

The Stone Circle in the Woods
No signpost, no trail, I found it alone
a ring of stone, grey flecked, overgrown
the moss didn’t speak, but I heard it clear
not with words, but something near
I stepped through the hush, into the ring
and time hung back, like it feared the thing
the trees leaned in, not to shade
but to listen close, to watch what stayed
Each stone stood like an oath unbroken
older than grief, deeper than token
I didn’t ask who set them there,
some truths are shaped from silent air.
I didn’t pray, I didn’t kneel,
I just let myself breathe and feel
the weight of a world that never lied.
still holding ground though all else died.
No fire, no light, no speech, no sound
just the circle, and me, and sacred ground
I left no mark, I took no stone
but I walked back changed, and not alone
