The State of Today

No one knows why they're spraying

trails in the sky...

it's not natural. Some say

they're now invisible,

but that they're still spraying.

Russia wants war.

America wants more

Oscar interviews.

The pot is bubbling over

as the whole world is looking

over its shoulder, did you hear?

There's another banker "suicide"...

and we're broke.

you will always find the

truth if you just

follow the

money.

Money is funny

except if you're poor,

and you don't have any

-

but their numbers are growing,

unlike the bee population.

This morning,

I awoke from a wonderful dream

where there was still

a "middle class",

and the nuclear family was something

every man: black and white

Indian and Hispanic,

was willing to die

to defend

at all costs.

I didn't want to write today...

I’m just so tired.

tired of lies,

tired of truth,

tired of work,

tired of hate,

tired of drones,

tired of phones,

So sick of the "news",

sick of the bigotry,

sick of disease,

sick of conspiracy,

sick of inaction,

sick of the faction,

and I’m so damn sick of Mickey Mouse.

yea,

I'm pretty sick and tired.

and I wish dreams really came true

Maybe we'd still have that wonderful

middle class. Maybe colored children

would be judged by the content of their

character, and not the pigmentation of

their skin.

Maybe women would be happy

being women,

and men would take responsibility

for their children. Maybe, if dreams

came true, leaders would be held

accountable. Or at least have a

conscience. Or better yet, there'd

be no need for “leaders” at all...

and privacy actually mattered...

but dreams are dreams,

and belong in the hearts of the optimists,

with no place on the canvas

of reality. The painting is done

and words are just words, and

I really didn't want to write today...
