The Springs & Things

Home Sweet Home

By Earl W. PearlPublished about a month ago Updated about a month ago 1 min read

These Incline Stairs of Manitou

Some run while others walk

But waiting at the top for you

Are reasons just to gawk

Come and see what nature shrouds

The beauty almost sings

Hidden underneath those clouds

Is Colorado Springs

The mountain air is pretty thin

Just west, the eastern plains

Olympic jocks train here to win

While charting all their gains

There’s military all throughout

This city holds its own

Inside a mountain, safe and stout

Is NORAD, carved in stone

With Pikes Peak proudly standing there

An audience applauds

And there beneath that mountain’s care

The Garden of the Gods

I love to travel, love to roam

I’ve places still to see

The Springs however, I call home

And that’s alright with me

fact or fiction
