The Spice of Life

Smelling the aroma of ginger cake,

I wonder: what truly brings flavour to life?

Is it the smile one gives, to rise each morning

*and embrace the day with hope?*

The warmth of sunlight on my skin,

the taste of sweetness lingering,

the sound of laughter, a gentle breeze,

the sight of colours bursting forth,

each moment a sensation,

dancing together in a beautiful symphony.

Oh, how I love ginger cake,

the way its aroma fills the air from the oven.

As I open my eyes, I embrace my mother’s baking,

so nice to wake up to,

a sweet reminder of love and warmth.
