My healing could never commence
as long as I continued to rest
in the darkness.

Only when I walked away,
when I said, ‘God be with you’,
could I live what I pray.
~
Now I stand in the space
between what I left
and what is coming next.
~
Lifting my head to the sky
where the clouds are clearing
much too free to search for meaning.
