The sound of silence.

A modern fear

Hush, what sound is this that comes to our ears?

What dread noise that bring us to our fears?

We, who abide in this urban nightmare.

So constant with sounds that fill the air,

Now nothing, a sound of silence rare.

Our minds reel from audio assault,

We feel we have dropped to a soundless vault.

How dare the world cease its distractions,

How cruel it is to make us aware of actions.

Bring back our noise and bustle,

Let us again avoid the mental tussle.

We love our mind-numbing constant noise,

Without it we have to think,-- and so loose our poise.

Earphones wired to constant rapping music,

Shade covered eyes reality removed to prove it.

Brutal silence grabs attention, forces reality,

Onto urban masses who are escaping sanity.
