We’re fighting for the soul of this land.

The heavy gavels fall in chambers high,
As basic freedoms are prepared to die.
They strip the rights our mothers bled to gain,
And code our bodies into state domain.
The corporate checkbooks write the new decrees,
To force a nation to its frightened knees.
But millions gather where the highway ends,
With iron wills that no dictator bends.
Against the tyrants and their armed command,
We’re fighting for the soul of this land.

The billionaire takes center stage to preach,
With hate and fury laced in every speech.
They plan the mass expulsions of the poor,
And stack the sandbags at the clinic door.
The TV networks monetize the fear,
As dark autocracy draws starkly near.
We check the boxes on the paper sheets,
Then take our outrage to the frozen streets.
To block the fascists and the laws they planned,
We’re fighting for the soul of this land.

The primary is rigged by donor cash,
While party bosses watch the old guard crash.
They lecture workers from a pristine stage,
Then tell the young to moderate their rage.
The corporate centrist smiles and asks for trust,
While working class ambitions turn to dust.
We see the rot inside our own regime,
The hollow promise of a broken dream.
To rip the power from the wealthy hand,
We’re fighting for the soul of this land.
