I peer outside my window
At an ocean that is so blue
And contemplate the future
Whatβs in store for me and you
And there he is floating round
He doesn't seem to have a care
The lonely surfer against the sea
Heβs just happy to be there.
πππ½ππ½ββοΈππ½ββοΈπ
He is not concerned about politics
Or the rising price of milk and bread
Just a tiny spec in a vast sea of blue
The challenge is all that fills his head
Will it be the next wave
Or maybe the one after that
Patience is a virtue
And heβs certainly good at that.
πππ½ππ½ββοΈππ½ββοΈπ
Β
Floating like a cork
Just a spec in this vast sea
No concern for the state of affairs
Just where his next wave will be
As long as he is out there
He is floating footloose and fancy free
In his cauldron of excitement
There is no place he would rather be.
πππ½ππ½ββοΈππ½ββοΈπ
Β
But nothing lasts forever
His playtime will end
He will have to return to normality
Just like us all, my friend
But my lonely surfer
I am not the jealous kind
But I look at you with envy
For the peace that you can find

[A/n: This poem was inspired by a lone surfer I was watching yesterday.Β I am blessed to live with the ocean right at my front door and often waste too much time watching the antics of the surfers as they try to catch that perfect wave.Β
They always seem so relaxed as they float around and sit on their boards until that wave comes along.Β They do their best to ride it to the fullest, then turn around and go back for the next one.]
Till next time,
