The smooth flow of Time
It Never pauses for mankind
As smooth as the sweet sounds of a perfect melody
Time marches on by, unimpeded by life's annoyances
By the cries and pleas of our tiny human voices
Lost within the annals of time!
Strife...war...death...life...ebb...flow...tide...storms...
Still, in never ending, unbroken strands
Time marches onwards
Disregarding our murmurs, pants and pleas
Father Time passes us by with not a moment's care
Even as our life's breaths and gasps, take leave of our bodies
Still, onwards march the seconds, minutes, hours, days and weeks
Three scores and ten years we are promised
Yet in the twinkling of an eye
Time erases our very existence
A new us is born every second, every minute
And the strands of life keep time with the silent march
Smooth and unchanging, unfeeling
Time will never pause for the likes of us
So let's outsmart Father Time
Grab life by the horns
AND SMOOTHLY RIDE THAT BULL!
Or die trying!

Excellent! Many great lines here. Seem to have missed many of your pieces. Knew I was a couple or so behind ..but gets lost in notifications. Apologies! Funny how we both wrote about time recently (I.e briefly in my free verse about sabotage and confidence etc)… I guess it is an apt idea with endless ideas for poetry isn’t it.
