The Smooth Cocoon
The smooth transition of the water of life into the bread of life
Man cannot live by bread alone
but roti, tortilla, bread, noodles, roux or biscuits
dumplings, paratha, pastry, pita and crepes are staples.
.
Skilled members of mankind
farm and mill grains.
With art and grace, master magician bakers have the touch
They measure coarsely milled grains of flour
and sometimes fat and gritty salt - once a source of currency-
then add the water of life.
.
They blend and knead the mixture into a smooth silken dough cocoon.
It is left to rest and undergoes metamorphosis.
Alchemical transformations create strong, flexible and durable fibres .
They can contort as they are pat, rolled, spun, dropped or twisted
and then baked into a chef d'oeuvre.
.
The power of the water of life
smoothly flows and transforms.
into the bread of life,
that in turn,
nourishes and sustains energy
that continually changes form throughout eternity.

My stories are intended to teach facts, supported by science as we know it. Science often reflects myths. Both can help survival in an ever-changing world.
