The Siren Inside

The siren below

By K.B. Silver Published 11 months ago 1 min read

the sweetest breath

a whispering wind

it blew across the

inside of my skin

I’ve always

felt her there

like fingers barely

caressing my hair

every time the ache

would consume

a feeling of beauty

an internal rhythm

started to bloom

along with my lamentation

combined to generate

a haunting note imbibed

swallowed up the

song of my heart

allowed it to grow

give voice to

the anguish tucked away

The desperation stuffed

deep between layers

of pumping muscle

My Siren’s Song

illuminating soul and

drawing ear to chest

In a slow, dream-like spin

grasping with a mangling

hold on the elusive line

pulling words

deep from within

spiraling into the

endless sea of blacked out

memories

as the under toe grabs hold

power, rings out in the

salt-crusted air

ships of shadow and despair

drawn into my eddy

capsizing in choral glory

masts snapping

splinters fly

embedding in a whale's right eye

sails burning in my

eloquent fury

as the melody only

builds and flurries

I twirl in destructive bliss

drawing slavering man and beast

with my addling mist

madness streaming from ear to ear

all crowding the

bay of endless tears

splashing and gashing

at each other's fears

not a single

damnable, one can swim

clambering upon the

backs of their brethren

just to run

flee to open sea

creating a swirling mass

of sloshing bodies

frantically clinging

in efforts to reach me

every passing moment

metamorphosis proceeds

pulling all down

through a slowly churning

whirlpool

bypassing the sandy floor

sinking to Hades

my calling home
