Compelled by fears of loneliness, condoned and uncontrolled

These selfish urges overtake our saddened souls

Sacrilegious sable sages

Haunt unstable perverse pages

Twisted minds make false assumptions

Trust is broken

She lies within us all

Shadow fogging our consciences

Corruption spawns these sadists

Sinful natures, stalking faces

Nothing within but this mistress

She sleeps inside us all

Terror tears at the torn and the tattered

Demons inside us, broken and battered

Translucent skin of burdened brides

Beneath this surface, there she hides

She fights our instincts to leave her behind

Tries to escape the confines of our troubled minds

Nothing stops these horrid dreams

Through these bars, I whisper my screams

I realize, too late that I am she

The Sinistress I hate so thoroughly

About the Creator

Maia Gadwall the metAlchemist

I fell in love with speculative fiction and poetry many years ago, but I have precious little time to write any. Then, I went crazy and started a cult called metAlchemy, or meta alchemy. I revere energy of all brands, esp. good, kind chaos.
