The Sick Boy
My first poem, written when I was 7

Once, long ago, there was a boy with worn-out lungs.
Though lying in the hospital, he still felt at home.
On a completely ordinary day, when he saw flocks of birds,
he wanted to fly too.
He wished to sway through the hallways like a little cloud,
to enjoy the floating,
and let his little legs come alive.
He wanted to glide through the hallways,
and let his life flow onward.
This is a special poem to me, as it is the first of many. Wishing to share this with you all in my home language, I tried my best to translate it in a way that still portrays the feeling of the poem. Thank you for taking the time to read it.
