The Shower

A Poem

By Alexis PatrickPublished 8 years ago • 1 min read

Violated and dirty have to get clean

Scrub scrub scrub on your skin til it bleeds

Defeated, you sit forehead on your knees

The water's ice cold and you still don't feel clean

Your skin is scorched from trying to burn him away

But you still feel him there, deep inside to this day

You can't believe how it feels just like filth and dismay

Memories repeating in your mind make it go away

The steam couldn't erase him, not matter how many hours

You can't wash your rape down the drain with a shower
