The Shore Was Always There
I just had to survive the waves long enough to find it.

Life is a struggle, I wander alone.
The darkness surrounds me; I’m lost on my own.
I drift through the ocean, no shoreline in sight,
Surrounded by darkness, consumed by the night.
The sky offers nothing, no light to guide me.
Will I ever escape? Will I ever be free?
(4 years later)
Life was a struggle, but now I can see,
The darkness has faded; I finally feel free.
I drifted through oceans that swallowed my light,
But learned how to swim through the waves of the night.
The sky now shines brightly, its warmth shines on me,
I’ve reached my own shoreline; I’m finally free.
