The Shock of Creativity.
On dreams and imagination.
When Lightning Lives in Dreams
Creativity doesn’t knock.
It waits until night,
until the mind loosens its grip
on what makes sense.
That’s where I dream—
spinning quiet thoughts
into nearly invisible threads,
a web only felt
when you step inside it.
At first, it’s gentle.
A shimmer.
A hum beneath the dark.
Then—
lightning.
Not the kind that destroys,
but the kind that reveals.
The kind that startles someone
into seeing what they didn’t know
they were missing.
That’s the shock
people talk about
when they meet a creative’s world.
It’s not chaos.
It’s clarity arriving too fast.
A truth flashing
before the eyes can adjust.
Some recoil.
Some freeze.
Some lean closer,
hearts racing,
asking for another strike.
Because lightning never explains itself.
Neither do dreams.
They simply light the sky
and leave you changed.
Creativity is weather.
Unpredictable.
Unapologetic.
And when you’re caught in its web,
even for a moment,
you carry the storm with you—
long after the night goes quiet.
