The She Wolf in the Sky
Cosmic werewolf on the horizon

Upon pitted asteroid, it waits and slumbers
Neither dead nor live she wanders
Drifting through an expansive universe
Milky Way, the next system cursed
Celine’s silvery beams perchance to hit
This cosmic beast by star dust bit
Once a woman from an undiscovered world
Reborn in moonglow, slowly unfurled
Rabid hunger, bestial instinct, all she knows
Consumed home and neighbor before darkness froze
With each bite, her mass accumulates
Size, weight ↗The were-beast grows in both accursed states
Now, great paw prints replace whole bustling towns
Swaths of cities have been washed down
Distilling vats barely satiate
The moonshine her rampage, escalate
The Earth, thrown off its sloping axis, cracked and flung
Outweighed, slashed, bitten by talon, fang, and tongue
Floating shewolf, the largest entity, gravity realigned, it shifts
The silver moon, pulled along as awake, she drifts
Metors hit her bulwarked hide like rocky peach pits
Space debris catches her eye, dusty and rusty, so out she spits
Dipping clawed hands, she scoops from Satern's rings
Dripping, she guzzles, like water from a stream
The hunt continues in the argent light of her own satellite
She roams the universe with ravenous appetite
Swallowing worlds whole, gathering moon after moon
Light from every star reflects, until steely hair shines like high noon
K.B. Silver
This was started for The unofficial werewolf story challenge by Sam Spinelli. I hoped to get to the 500 word mark, but I wasn't about to stretch it when it felt done. Instead I am working on an actual short story. That will just take a little longer.
I first thought of the Shakira song She wolf, I loved it as a teen, and think Shakira is really talented. Unfortunately the song, especially the video, is just a little too sexy to pair with this story. On the other hand the David Guetta song She Wolf featuring SIA, is perfect.
