The Shadow of Fear

The shadow of fear looms large,

A darkness that I cannot discharge,

A weight that sits heavy on my chest,

A feeling that I cannot rest.

The unknown, a place of dread,

A path that fills me with dread,

The future, a mystery so vast,

A horizon that I cannot outlast.

The fear of failure, a constant pain,

A burden that I cannot sustain,

The fear of rejection, a haunting ghost,

A memory that I cannot boast.

But I will not let fear defeat me,

I'll face it head-on, you'll see,

For in the shadow of fear,

I'll find the strength to persevere.

I'll take a step, then another,

I'll face my fears like no other,

I'll confront the darkness of my mind,

And leave my fear behind.

For in the shadow of fear,

I'll find the courage to draw near,

To the life that's waiting for me,

A life that's filled with possibility.

The shadow of fear may be dark,

But it cannot snuff out my spark,

For with each step that I take,

I'll leave fear in my wake.
