The Shadow Dance

Static

Is it better to be a shadow?

A shade of dark cast by the light?

A flickering of nothing,

Caught between the day and night?

Is it better to be an echo,

That reverberates through space?

A long-casted line,

Of endless time

With no resonance to place?

Tell me, are you a memory,

That can’t be quite recalled?

Do you wander through a static void,

Like a ghost trapped in the walls?

What message are you sending through,

Most mysterious poltergeist?

Is reality so paper thin,

And you are just a slice?

A long-casted line,

Of endless time

With no resonance to place?

Both loose and tight,

Just black and white,

A dance that can’t be traced.
