A moonlit dream

I fell asleep beneath the fullest of moons

Whilst wishing upon the twinkling stars

Dreams they say, come in riddles

I killed the bad man who tried to do me in

He broke into my home, I was not having it

I hit him over the head with a loaf of bread

And his head fell off

The police came and took his body away

The head fell and rolled away, all the way

Up into the sky

But he came back that night

Well, just his head, flowers were growing out the top

It chased me across the room

down the stairs and out the door

I ran, and ran, and ran

It caught me. I fell

The vines from his head wrapped all around me

It squeezed my throat. I began blacking out

I tried to scream. My arms held onto the cursed head

It opened its mouth and laughed. Teeth black as soot

Wildly I struggled, to no avail

Down, down, I sank

Into a blank, black cavernous void

I awaken violently, my hands flailing wildly

Reaching for my face, my eyes

My body, my feet, my Me

Hallelujah! I am still all here

Dreams! They are the worst.
