The Sea Rolls High Without Any Waves
Frightening how climate change is changing

The Sea Rolls High Without Any Waves
The sea rolled high without any waves,
As storm clouds gathered above,
The skies turned dark, the winds grew wild,
There was no peace, nor love.
The ocean roared throughout the night,
As thunder filled the air,
The angry skies looked down below,
As though they didn’t care.
The mighty waters began to rise,
The tide came rushing in,
The sea was fighting against the land,
A battle it wanted to win.
The waves crashed hard against the shore,
As rain began to fall,
The frightened people closed their doors,
And prayed they’d survive it all.
The winds blew cold across the coast,
The trees began to bend,
Nobody knew how long it’d last,
Or when the storm would end.
The boats were rocking in the docks,
The harbour lights grew dim,
The sea was showing all its strength,
As darkness settled in.
The streets were flooded, homes were soaked,
The gardens washed away,
The storm had brought such misery,
Before the break of day.
And when the morning finally came,
The clouds began to clear,
The people looked at what was left,
With sadness, shock and fear.
The sea grew quiet, the winds died down,
The sun began to glow,
But memories of that dreadful night,
Would stay with those below.
For nature has a mighty hand,
And power beyond our dreams,
The sea can rise without a warning,
And destroy our peaceful scenes.
So never take the sea for granted,
No matter how calm it may be,
For beneath those silent waters,
Lies the strength of the mighty sea.
