If We Listen To The Echo's; We Will Become Them

Hands on the rainy window pane,

Faces appear then they are not there,

Haunting screams echo through the room,

Wretched, bloodied faces tell stories of fear

and pain,

The walls move closer,

Hands smash down,

"You're not worth it,"

Voices chant,

All around,

I try to move,

I'm paralysed by my own fear,

I scream back;

My voice is met with silence

In this death-ridden Asylum.

I try to break free,

But I suffocate in this past

debris,

There is no escape from history,

It doesn't matter whether we are

guilty or innocent,

You only fall deeper;

Deeper,

Into the sea of screaming echo's,

Your life swallowed by an invisible ocean,

Of darkness, death, and depression;

We must fight to save ourselves from

the lies they tell us,

Even when the screams drown us in the terror

from our past,

We must let our true self-reflection,

Reflect on who we really are,

For;

If we listen to the echo's,

We will become them.
