He walked around everywhere

But it seemed like there was nobody to care

When he passed they all would just stare

He didn't think it was very fair

To find some friends he thought

Then maybe he wouldn't amount to nought

He just wanted to be included in play

But whenever he asked they would tell him to go away

He thought maybe he was a stray

Decided he should run far away

Find a place on a new day where they would invite him to play

Somewhere where he wouldn't feel so grey

Then maybe he would have the last hooray

But he had never been beyond the hill

Wasn't sure about the way still

He wanted to escape as the others thought he was a bit of a dill

He left because he was sick of their talk

The way they would tease him and baulk

Decided he would go and maybe find a new place to stay

But didn't know that once he got over the hill it might not be much of thrill

Anyway he started out climbed the hill

On the other side he looked around but couldn't decide

Then along came some creatures

He thought at first they had strange features

But they invited him to play

Said he could stay

Then one day they asked him the way

He took them back

The others tried to attack

But they frightened them all away

Now they all hid there and laid

None of them wanted to play

Just wanted to get away

He now had new friends to thank

Invited him to their rank

Such was the life of the he scared little ant
