The Sad Old Man Next Door
He lived a life in troubled waters lapping on the shore

The Sad Old Man Next Door
The sad old man next door once married a fish wife,
He thought she’d bring him happiness and brighten up his life,
But every night she flapped her tail and sighed beneath the moon,
While he just stared into his tea and wished he’d left her soon.
Their children were like sharks at sea, with smiles as sharp as knives,
They circled round their father, slowly eating up his life,
They promised him forever, then betrayed him with a grin,
For every time he trusted them, they found a way to win.
He gave them all his love and more, but love was never paid,
They’d swim around his kindness like a fortune to be made,
And every double-crossing bite left deeper scars behind,
The saddest man beside the sea with no one truly kind.
One day he packed his little case and wandered down the shore,
He left the fish wife flapping and the sharks to fight for more,
He found a quiet little hut where peaceful waters ran,
And finally lived a happy life… the sad old man next door became a happy man.
