The Sacrifice of Living

The clock keeps ticking.

Time will not stop—

And the clock doesn’t pause—

When you do.

The

Earth revolves

While you sleep,

And the sun

Keeps shining while you are in

The dark,

While you cannot

See…

When you rise

In the morning,

Do you count the

Hours,

Minutes,

Seconds, until

Your eyes close again?

Every moment has passed the

Second after.

What is one thing that always stays?

Tell me now, for I’ve grown blind to

The light our darling moon

Casts upon us in the dark.

I drift away with my soulless sleeps

And time…

Time slips through my fingers.
