The ruins

a poem

Long live all the magic we made,

who knew we would cut it so short

The moment I stopped pretending you were worth

all the air, all my breath, all the tears.

Shot by your bullets,

I learned how cheap your loyalty is.

I stood by you while you spat out promises,

Like gum on the sidewalk-

Used and flavorless.

You are to selfish,

To bitter.

Rotting from the inside out,

Yet you call the mold personality.

You torch every bridge then act shocked by the ashes.

Long live the magic we made, and long live the ruins too.
