Do we follow the rot blindly? And not.

Stand up to it.

We see it happens there in front of our eyes and let it happen,

And passively stand back embarrassed, ashamed,

Let it get on with it, do its worse...

Why, oh why,

We see it,

We know it's wrong,

We are aware that it will,

is destroying the world as we know it,

We express outrage on social medias,

Write not in my name,

But still, we observe it happen,

Can't be bothered,

Can’t be asked,

Not dressed yet, curry is on its way,

Calendar reads ovulating today,

Beer is just the right temperature,

What would, mum and dad make of it?

Don't want to look an idiot out there on my own.

And still,

Why, oh why

We know it is happening,

Part of our everyday but we take it

Passively, like a deer staring into headlights.

We are in our life as puppets,

Smiling, seeing, chatting but.

Let it happen,

Why, oh why

I know the rot has set in.

We accept it,

We live with it,

Eat our curry,

Fuck our partners

And that is all we will do about it.
