The Rabbit Hole

Part 1

By Shea MatthewPublished 7 years ago 1 min read
Part one of a series

He peels back layer after layer, once again

He now sees within

Scars that ache, a heart that's Always been broken

Devoid of skin, he finds a soul

Patiently waiting with arms open

He turns; He's afraid

Fearful that his own soul will assume control

All of the memories, attachments

They'll be erased

Terrified that everything he is will disappear

Vanish, without a trace

All of the pain he's walked through

The damage he's sustained

Every ounce of sorrow experienced, silently contained

Internal wounds now begin to fester

Darkness consumes, he loses his hold

He hits rock bottom

Only to Awake

In the depths of this rabbit hole...
