The Quiet Behind My Eyes
Thoughts I can’t hide

The Quiet Behind My Eyes
The world grows heavy when I think,
a weight that settles in my mind,
shadows move behind my eyes,
like thoughts I never learned to tame.
I walk through days with steady breath,
pretending I am standing strong,
underneath my calmest smile,
a thousand memories quietly stir.
Some rise like gentle echoes now,
soft murmurs brushing at my heart,
while others cut with colder hands,
reminding me of who I was.
I try to face them one by one,
to let them pass without a fight
though they linger in the dark,
I stand my ground through every wave.
The quiet holds me in its grip,
a place where I must learn to rest,
in the stillness of its touch,
I find the pieces I once lost.
I breathe and let the silence speak,
and though its voice is faint at first,
it leads me to a softer truth,
that healing comes in gentle steps.
