Students are shipped like cargo
To a place they don’t want to go
To learn things they don’t care about
Yet adults wonder why when they talk they shout
In this place they lose their rights
But if they struggle, If they fight
Rules like chains come down tight
Because adults don’t have their priorities right
Why do hours matter more than helping
Why do sports matter more than learning
Why do tests matter more than knowing
Why do numbers matter more than people
Students are trained to be drones
Follow the rules, stay in school
All things they are told to do
With no desires of their own
The world needs more innovation
The world needs stronger nations
But how can these come to fruition
If all they are allowed to do is listen?
School should be a haven
Built to help students grow
But it feels like a cold hell
With no place to go
