The Price of War

The global response to the Russian conflict in Ukraine

Freedom isn't free,

I don't know why we thought it would be.

At home we complain about inflation,

While Ukrainians flee to get to the train station.

A "democratically elected dictator" whatever that means,

Now has the whole world falling apart at the seams.

"We pray for Ukraine" has become the latest Hashtag,

Journalism under attack has created a lag.

It's been this way a while, it's sad to say,

That Russians who oppose him die every day.

Ukraine is strong and resilient, united we stand,

We'll whether this storm while they play their hand.

Freedom isn't free I'm sorry to say,

But we"ll stand with Ukraine till Putin's last day.
