The Prelude

Three

What is it like to be three?

It's like being at the carnival everyday.

For the first time you are spreading your wings.

Everything is rainbow colored and nothing is white or gray.

It is throwing tantrums in the grocery store

It's crying until your throat closes up.

Wanting everything and more

Sipping juice out of a sippy cup.

Three is the age where no one ages

Where the young stay young forever.

It is the age where you believe in angels.

Everyday get's even better.

Three is the age of bedtime stories,

Where monsters don't exist

You're parents shimmer in all their glory.

Hands are made for painting instead of makings fists.

But three can't last forever

Like your stories swore,

Time is bold and clever,

And time will make you four.
