The Power in my Mind
A Poem by Keila Aartila
The Power in my Mind
Here residing in my head
Your words are spoken, truth unsaid
Plead forgiveness if you must
Of your tongue, I’ll never trust
Consider this my final warn
Reach for me and you I’ll scorn
Instead, embrace your denied part
To warmly find your beating heart
Emotions with forked tongue are dead
Still, you reside in my head.
Thank you for reading! This is my first attempt at writing an acrostic poem, as challenged by Thavien Yliaster. (I think I need more practice.)
Don’t let the hypocrites live rent-free in your head. It’s time to evict!

Beautifully said!!!💕💖😊
Wonder acrostic!! Beautiful and powerful. Well done!
This poem is so empowering, and there are so many great words. I’ve so much to learn about poem types, I’ll have to try making an acrostic poem myself!
