The Pond with Deadly Secrets
Don’t go near the edge

The Pond with Deadly Secrets
The pond that holds deadly secrets
sits silent in the night
its surface black like spilled ink
hiding shadows out of sight
no birds sing near its edges
no wind dares to disturb
the water waits like quiet death
with something cold and sharp
beneath the glassy mirror
there’s silence deep and thick
where broken things are buried
and nothing grows or lives
it swallows light and hope
and every careless step
the pond does not forgive
it only takes and keeps
some say you hear faint voices
soft cries beneath the water
the pond that holds deadly secrets
never lets you win
if you look too long inside
you’ll see what should not be
a darkness cold as fear itself
waiting silently
the trees lean close like watchers
their branches black and bare
they whisper of old stories
of sorrow, pain, and care
the air is thick and heavy
like breath held tight and still
and those who’ve walked too near
have never left the chill
the pond is a dark mirror
reflecting what you hide
it knows the weight you carry
and holds it deep inside
and when you turn away
thinking you are free
the pond still holds its secrets
and it waits patiently
