The Place Peace Is Perfect

The Queer Vocal Voices Unofficial Spring Poetry Challenge

Green leaves fill the places

Where I once could see the lake

Near the pier, where I like to lay

When the sun is set to bake

Tiny vibrant, violet flowers softly dappled on the ground

Take a look, any direction, beauty's splendor can be found

Newly thawed fragments of the winter

call to me from warm splashes in the waves

The air is getting hotter

And my pigments start to change

The birds have made their way back home

With nesting babies on the way

Soon they will be grown

And through it all, I’ll watch them play

The smell of summer is in the breeze

As the sun revives my spirit

While it’s blowing through the trees

Don’t forget, to stop, and hear it
