The Phases

We called them the Phases, when we were high,

Phase One was make love and leave earth behind,

Two we’d come back to life in the shower,

Phase Three was to eat, refuel for an hour,

Maybe a pause, never ever a stop,

Phase Four was Phase One, let’s go from the top.

Ordered three meals a day, right to our door,

Never to leave our mattress on the floor.

Five years since then, I still cannot get clean,

Are you washing her now? What do you mean?

Peach scented soap; the one we used to use,

I’m stuck in the Phases, you as my muse.

It’s meant to be me laying on your chest,

Let’s go back to then and never get dressed.
