The Perfect Job For Anyone Alive

From childhood we are always asked,

what will you be, what will you do,

as if one answer holds a life,

as if it must define you fully.

We grow with that question in our bones,

watching others choose their paths,

some with certainty, some with doubt,

some just taking what they can.

The world will tell you chase success,

find the role that pays the most,

wear the title, earn the praise,

build a life that looks complete.

But there are people sat in silence,

in offices that feel too small,

earning well yet feeling empty,

counting days they cannot name.

The perfect job is not a dream,

not a single fixed design,

it shifts and moves as you do,

it changes as your life unfolds.

It is not always passion led,

sometimes it is simply peace,

a place where you are not undone,

where your mind can still feel clear.

It might be quiet, it might be simple,

not something others understand,

but it lets you live outside it,

it does not take all that you are.

Too many give their whole self up,

to roles that never give it back,

mistaking busy for alive,

mistaking stress for something earned.

But life is more than what you do,

more than hours sold away,

and any job that takes your breath,

is asking far too much of you.

So find the place that lets you stand,

without shrinking who you are,

because the perfect job for anyone alive,

is one that does not make you feel dead.
