The Perfect Challenge
Poem and Challenge
I have a challenge for y'all.
The reward is I will pick my favorite poems from this challenge to include in my course as inspiration for those who are learning how to write poetry: that means you will have more likes, comments, and views on that poetry (that of course, is if it's okay with you if I use your poetry as an example, totally fine if not.)
The Challenge is as follows;
Write a poem about the perfect day, or morning or evening, or perfect whatever.
Include your senses, such as sight, smell, and taste.
Use words that describe the scene so we can experience the day as you would want to experience it.
Please link your poem below. Here is mine.
I awake to my husband, arm around me
my baby sleeping, nestled close
the weather is dark, clouds rolling in
the rain, hitting the ground forcefully
*
the warmth of the bed keeps me safe
I bury my nose in my daughter's embrace
my husband whispers "i love you"
his voice sleepy, and deep
I finally untangle from my family
the cat follows me to the kitchen
rubbing gently on my legs
*
the windows are open
I see all the rain
the smell of petrichor and coffee
As I sit at the table
and thank God that this is the start of my day
