The Pen and it's Power
Sharper than the sword
There you are.
That small although powerful piece of steel.
Your might isn't rooted in your durability but rather what you can do.
Sometimes all I need is you, a notebook, and a quiet space.
If properly handled you have the ability to solve most of our problems.
The will to help us go on with strokes across a page.
You help guide us writers who have been selected through divinity for this powerful craft.
What would we do without you?
Like a warrior headed to battle without their sword.
You are not only our weapon...,
you're our protection..,
our therapy.
Ain't nothing going down without you.
A story or novel.
An essay nor an assignment.
A playwright or a screenplay.,
or at least the inception of a screenplay.
Shit ain't happening.
NOT A MUTHAFUCKIN THING!
I don't care how often pc's, laptops or tablets are updated.
Writing notes within a smartphone.
You will always be the first love for most of us old school style writers.
When your body guides our thoughts with movement it does something.
Something to our brains.
Causing it to react in a unique way on a psychological level.
It feels so natural.
Organic.
Meant to be.
Who would have known something so simple can translate the thoughts of a human so poetically when connected.
A writer and a pen go hand in hand.
Art in motion.
Like a fisherman and his rod.
A hunter and a bow.
A slugger and his bat ready to drive in the game winning run.
A jedi with a lightsaber upholding the light side of the force.
For a heart to pump it must posses a pulse.
The soul fuels the pulse which is funneled through the pen.
The world has become out of touch with our primal instincts due to the ongoing advancement of technology.
Don't worry though pen.
You will forever be remained grounded within the existence of our makeup.
Long as writers roam Earth you presence will be upheld.
It will stand the test of time.
Stronger.
Not only inevitable.
But....
INFINITE.
